The Sunderland seats a dinner party of twelve or more when fully extended, and closes to a comfortable everyday table. It's part of Theodore Alexander's Althorp Living History collection.
The rectangular top is mahogany with flame veneer, finished with a reeded edge and rounded corners crossbanded in chestnut burl and morado. Two self-storing leaves extend it from 94½ to 143 inches. Below, two turned baluster bases each branch into four downswept legs ending in leaf-cast brass cappings.
